Efficient Geysers Save Money!
April 21, 2022XTEND elements are gaining popularity in hard water areas as they are able to manage the limescale build up, associated with these areas, far better than standard elements.
XTEND elements experience less scaling and performance is less affected due to the design and location of our heating element. In addition any limescale build up is only formed on the middle third of the element, allowing heat to escape to the water through the unscaled parts.
Standard elements, however, drop in performance significantly as the limescale builds up. Standard elements also starts to deteriorate due to this inability to dissipate the heat, and eventually burn out. It is estimated that an element is operating at 50% efficiency just before if burns out.
XTEND elements do not drop in performance so save significantly on energy costs in these areas as well as the replacement costs associated with standard elements.
XTEND elements are protected by marine grade stainless steel and can be easily cleaned if limescale build up is significant. In very hard water areas we recommend annual servicing or cleaning of the element and geyser to ensure optimal performance and long lifespan.
